In February 2022, EMS Ltd was called in to replace street lighting close to the Cardiff Dock by the Welsh Government. Before work commenced on the street lighting, the team carried out a site survey on all 11 street lights and highlighted to the Welsh government a number of issues with them- with many of the lights not properly functioning, not giving adequate light or being damaged. The solution was to replace the heads of the street lights with new energy-efficient and low maintenance LED lighting. With the Welsh Governments approval to carry out the works, our EMS team got to work replacing the light heads. As the street lights are 6 meters (19 feet) high, it was too dangerous for our engineers to use ladders to replace the light heads and so a cherry picker was required to get our engineers to the correct height to carry out the work. With the aid of the cherry picker, the EMS Ltd team were able to work in tandem - with one of our engineers replacing the heads via the cherry picker whilst our other engineer carried out electrical adaptions at their bases to ensure that the new street light heads operated correctly during nightfall. The finished works resulted in all 11 street light heads being replaced with LED lighting. This new lighting system allowed the road and walkways to be lit brighter, reducing the need and cost to regularly maintain them, and also lowering energy costs. We all like to enjoy the sunshine during the summer. Whether it's on holidays abroad, at home at the beach or even in our own back gardens. But as we all know our British summers are unpredictable so it's always nice to have a semi-outdoor space where you can both enjoy the sunshine and entertain - even when the weather turns. For one of our clients, they wanted just that. A space where they can both enjoy the sunshine and their garden but also have a space where they can both relax and entertain throughout the year. For us here at EMS Ltd, we have a number of clients in different sectors that we carry out work for. Finding out that your kitchen has been damaged by a simple leak can be devastating, especially if the kitchen has been specially made for you and your home. The exact thing happened to one of our clients where their bespoke kitchen was damaged by a leak. However, our client was able to repair the damage through their insurance claim and requested EMS Ltd to carry out the repair work. Before work began repairing the leak, our engineers had to carefully remove and dismantle the clients' bespoke kitchen - with it being installed at a later time. After carefully removing the kitchen, our engineers then moved on to removing the tiled flooring where they could gain access to the cause of the damage and install a new electrical underfloor heating system. Following the repair of the damage and the installation and testing of the underfloor heating system, the clients' kitchen was retiled and the original kitchen reinstalled - with all electrical and plumbing appliances tested - and finished to the same high standards. How many of you remember Avocado green bathroom suites? Although they were all the rage back in the 70's, they aren't exactly the rage today with many home owners opting for sleek white bathroom suites with high end finishes. Richards Construction - who we have worked with on a number of projects - were leading the renovation of the property, calling EMS in to assist in updating electrical and plumbing work - especially in the bathroom. 2016 was the year that the Wales football team performed magic and got the quarter-finals of the UEFA Euro World Cup. Throughout the world cup in 2016, many of Wales' most iconic landmarks were lit up red in support of the Wales team. Now 5 years on and the UEFA Euro World Cup back once again, Wales and its iconic landmarks will be lit red again to show their support. Here at EMS Ltd, we have worked on a number of Cadw projects including their most recent project to light Caerphilly Castle Yellow for National Day of Reflection. This project saw our engineers visiting 3 of Wales' most iconic castles including Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch and Wales' oldest castle Chepstow Castle. In the weeks leading up to the Castle's being lit red in support of the Welsh Football team, many of the castle's external lighting was old and faulty and required our engineers to install new lighting that both gave better light but were also more energy-efficient. We are once again immensely proud to be working on these prestigious and iconic Welsh landmarks and wish the Wales Football team Pwb Luc (Good Luck) at the UEFA Euro 2021 World Cup. Caerphilly Castle is one of Wales's oldest and most iconic castles with its imposing walls, turrets and moat. And in March 2021, Caerphilly Castle was lit up yellow for National day of Reflection - remembering those who lost their lives to COVID-19 since the start of lockdown in March 2020. In the weeks leading up to National Day of Reflection, our engineers went to Caerphilly Castle, to remove their already existing and faulty lighting and replacing with new energy-efficient lighting provided by Pulsar Light. Due to the nature of the project - with the lighting being installed within the castle' moat - Safety Boats UK assisted us with providing small boats that allowed our engineers to safely get to the location of the lighting and safely install them.
